As the annual Small Business Awards Celebration approaches, my heart swells with gratitude and reflection. It’s a moment to look back at what has truly been an extraordinary chapter in the Flourish story.
Our journey began in 2018. Just a year later, Logan (my first hire) and I found ourselves as proud nominees for the Small Business Contender. It was just the two of us then. Realistically, we knew our chances of winning were slim. Yet, my spirit told me this was our moment to shine, to introduce Flourish to the world. And in the true spirit of marketing? We dared to think big.
Back then, the Small Business Awards were themed. The theme of that year was ‘Game of Thrones’. Rather than simply donning colors of blue and red to represent Fire and Ice, we took a leap. We collaborated with a local artist, who transformed us with striking face paint that turned heads and started conversations.
Logan was initially hesitant, wondering if we were pushing the boundaries. But once we stepped into that hall, our decision was affirmed. The Huntsville community welcomed us with warmth and enthusiasm. Even if they didn’t recognize Flourish by name, they unmistakably remembered the ‘women who went the extra mile’.
That spirit of audacity, of putting our all into what we love, remains embedded in Flourish’s DNA. We are deeply committed to our work, forging relationships that transcend mere transactions. Every challenge is met head-on, and our dedication shines through – and I say that with immense pride.
This adventure has been nothing short of magical. Awards are lovely recognitions, but the true reward has been the journey itself. Our team continues to embody the dual ethos of fire – our fiery passion for creative thinking, and ice – our cool, compassionate approach to strategic planning.
A guiding principle remains with us: do what you love and love what you do. Without this belief, our endeavors would lack soul and purpose.
Our community’s unwavering support has been our backbone. Their belief in our vision fills me with endless gratitude. So, while awards are an honor, the truth is, in the hearts of our team and in the love of our community, we’ve already won. And for that, every day is a celebration.
