(HUNTSVILLE, Ala.) – Madison County is home to the largest public safety communications center in the state of Alabama with the Huntsville-Madison County 9-1-1 System, which serves the cities of Huntsville and Madison, along with Madison County, by dispatching emergency calls to all police, fire and emergency medical service (EMS) agencies in the county daily.
For the first time, the 9-1-1 Center is partnering with a local public relations and marketing agency in order to serve the public more efficiently through strategic communications. Flourish, the agency selected, will focus its efforts toward community engagement campaigns, creating educational materials and programs to inform the public and media outreach, among other proactive public relations projects that will benefit the Huntsville, Madison and surrounding areas.
“Flourish is honored to work with Huntsville-Madison County 9-1-1 Center to expand its marketing and public relations program,” said Megan Nivens-Tannett, Founder and CEO of Flourish. “A lot of people don’t realize that our local call center is the largest in the state, housing eight agencies under one roof. This allows them to collaborate during emergency situations, providing our citizens with the best service possible when it matters the most. Working alongside their team has already proven to be an eye-opening experience; we’re thrilled to see the impact that this collaboration will have in our community.”
Flourish began its partnership with 9-1-1 by leading a complete redesign of its website. The modernized site, which will launch in early 2020, is highly navigable on desktop computers, optimized for mobile devices and more succinctly explains the center’s services. The site includes “9-1-1 Tips” for adults and children, answers to frequently asked questions, and all relevant center announcements and updates.
This partnership forms as Huntsville-Madison County 9-1-1 prepares to move to a larger facility in 2020. The new building, currently under construction, will allow 9-1-1 to expand its reach and services, and align the center for success as it continues to offer the highest quality of service to Madison County both now and in the future.
“As the population in Huntsville and Madison County continues to grow, our 9-1-1 center must expand with it to meet the needs of our community,” said CEO of Madison County Communications District and Director of the Wireless Infrastructure for the Huntsville-Madison County 9-1-1 System Ernie Blair. “Our new facility, which is twice the size of our current space, is equipped to accommodate that growth. Additionally, the center offers cutting-edge technology that will carry us into the future, enabling us to serve the area more efficiently than ever before.”
